Assam University Silchar Admissions 2012-13

Assam University, Silchar has issued notification for admission into various PG courses (M.A. and M.Sc.) for the year 2012-13. Assam University is a Central University with a second campus in Diphu, Assam. Assam University also offering UG , Professional and Diploma courses. It is also offering B.Tech, MBA, 5 / 6 Year Integrated Courses along with advanced certificate programs. Applications can be downloaded from the University website mentioned at the end of this post. Following are details of Courses, eligibility, selection procedure and application process:

P.G. Courses (at Silchar Campus)

1) MA: Arabic, Bengali, English, Linguistics, Hindi, Manipuri, Sanskrit, Economics, Political science, Sociology, History, Philosophy, Education and French
2) M Sc: (Physics, Earth Sciences, life Science & Bioinformatics, Bio-Technology, Chemistry, Mathematics, Ecology and Environmental science, Microbiology)
3) M Com: (Commerce)
4) MLIS: (Library Science)
5) MMC: (Mass Communication)

P.G courses (at Diphu campus)

1) MA: (Political science, History, English, Assamese)
2) M Sc: (Life Science & Bioinformatics, Physics, Anthropology)
3) M Com: (Commerce)

5 years integrated / UG courses

1) M Sc: (Computer Science)
2) MSW: (Social work)
3) BA LLB honours (Law)
4) 4 years UG+ 2 years PG course : BVA+ MVA (Visual Arts)
5) 4 years UG course : B. Sc. B. Ed.
6) M Ed course: 1 year

PG Diplomas: Bio-informatics / Marketing Management / Journalism / Tea Management / Information Technology / Entrepreneurship and innovation (At Diphu Campus only).

B. Tech. courses: Information Technology / Agricultural Engineering. Admission into B.Tech courses (4 years) will be done through AIEEE Central Counseling only.

MBA: Through MAT only.

Important Dates (Tentative):

1) Last date of receipt of applications : June 2012.
2) Admission test date: July 2012.
3) Personal Interview: July 2012.
4) Display of list of provisionally selected candidates : July 2012.
5) Display of provisionally selected candidates from wait list: July 2012.
