DBT Research Associateship in Biotechnology-Life Sciences Sep 2010

Department of Biotechnology, Govt. of India announced notification for the grant of DBT- Research Associateship in Biotechnology and Life Sciences. Selected candidates have to pursue research in advanced areas of Biotechnology and Applied Biology. The applicants should have Ph.D. Degree in Sciences, Engineering or M.D. or M.S. degree in any area of medicine. They should have research interest in Biotechnology and Life Sciences along with excellent academic record.

The Research Associateship can be availed within 3 years of the award of Ph.D./M.D./M.S.. This limit is relaxable for 2 more years for women candidates. Those submitted their thesis / dissertation and waiting for viva also can apply. Age should be below 40 years for men and 45 years for women candidates.

The duration of the Associateship is two years and can be extended for up to 5 years based on performance of the candidate. The fellowship will be between Rs.22000- 24000 per month and a contingency grant of Rs. 50000 per year. Selection of candidates will be based on their CV and merit in interview. Interviews will be held at Indian Institute of Science, Science during November 2010.
