DBT-Tata Innovation Fellowship Scheme 2010

Department of Biotechnology is encouraging science students to pursue research in various discipline of Life Sciences. DBT is offering Fellowships under different schemes aimed at rewarding innovation and inter disciplinary research in the areas of advanced sciences. Tata Innovation Fellowship Scheme is one among those rewards. DBT of Govt. of India has announced notification for award of Tata Innovation Fellowship for 2010. The duration of the TIF fellowship will be initially for three years and extendable further by two years after appraisal of the project.

The amount of the fellowship under this scheme will be Rs.20,000/- per month. Candidates are also eligible to draw regular salary from the institute they are working at the time of research. Apart from this, each fellow will receive a contingency grant of Rs. 5,00,000/- per annum. DBT is working under the aegis of Ministry of Science and Technology.

Indian nationals below the age of 60 years are eligible to apply. The applicant should have Ph.D degree in Life Sciences, Agriculture, Veterinary Science. Candidates with Master’s degree in Medical Sciences, Engineering OR it's equivalent degree in Biotechnology and related areas also eligible. They need professional experience in the concerned area and able to lead a team. The candidate must be engaged in R and D activities in any University or Organization or Institute.
