There are 660 MCA colleges in the state. Out of these only 38 percent seats filled after seats allotment in First Phase counseling. It should be noted that students are not going for this course even fee reimbursement scheme is continued by the government. Corporate companies are preferring B.Tech. CSE / IT candidates than MCA students in placements. This is also a major reason for this pathetic situation.
There are 87039 seats available in both MBA and MCA courses in Andhra Pradesh under Convenor quota. 57209 seats allotted in the first phase. Though 1,50,950 candidates qualified in ICET, only 60214 students appeared for certificate verification. Among these only 59456 candidates exercised web options. There are no takers for management quota seats as well. In fact, it is good opportunity for those candidates with real interest in these courses to grab a seat in a reputed college under management quota. And, who knows, third and final phases along with spot admissions with a fee concession also will be there in MBA and MCA colleges.
