NIMCET exam will have 120 questions with each question carrying 4 marks. The total marks for the question paper is 480. Out of these, a score of 300- 350 shall assure you a seat in reputed NIT. As the numbers of seats are doubled during 2008 to 2011 from 500+ to 800+, there are fair chances of getting a seat in NIT even if you are around 280-300 marks. Most of the times, cut offs also depend on the difficulty level of the question paper. These are general estimations based on previous counseling statistics of NIMCET.

3. National Institute of Technology Raipur: 92 seats

6. Moulana Azad National Institute of Technology Bhopal: 92 seats.
7. National Institute of Technology Durgapur: 71 seats
8. Mothilal Nehru National Institute of Technology Allahabad: 93 seats.
9. National Institute of Technology Kurukshetra: 92 seats
10. National Institute of Technology Tiruchirapally: 45 seats (23 seats are for Tamilnadu students)
11. National Institute of Technology Agarthala: 20 seats
