Thermostable enzyme for DNA amplification is required for PCR and such DNA polymerase from thermophilic bacteria Thermus aquaticus, Taq, is the most commonly used in molecular biology for production of large amount of Taq polymerase. The process used by the author to obtain Taq polymerase is quite economical and found to be high efficiency than the commercial Taq. The results are quite encouraged and can be used in molecular biology. The author is studying his B.Tech (Biotechnology) in Bharat Institute of Engineering and Technology, Hyderabad.
Though the major portion of the book contains literature and standard methodology collected from various sources the importance of economic production of large amount of Taq polymerase from clone bacteria is worth reading and notable. Overall the book is well written with suitable references in a simple form that can be absorbed by much student community belong to biotech sector. The schematic steps regarding cloning, isolation of Taq polymerase, chemical used and related steps in molecular biology are well described and I strongly recommend the book for B.Tech and other under graduate students of biotech. Author can concentrate on publishing the work in any reputed journal.
