Osmania University Management Programmes

Faculty of Management, Osmania University (OU), Hyderabad is offering various programmes through its faculty of Management. The University has full fledged department for Management courses. OU is offering MBA with various functional specialisations, research programmes in M.Phil and Ph.D. along with other popular courses like MBA Evening programme and MBA Technology Management. Admission to most of the Management programmes of OU is based on ranks in ICET examination to be conducted by the State Government of Andhra Pradesh. Following are details of various management programmes offered at Faculty of Management of OU:

1) MBA (Day): Duration is 2 years. Applicants should have Bachelor’s Degree with mathematics as one of the subject and those appearing for the final year exams also can apply. Candidates who have not pursued Maths at degree level should have studied the same at 10th class or Intermediate level. Admission will be based on ICET ranks which is conducted by APSCHE.

2) MBA (Evening): Duration is 3 years. Qualification: Candidates should have passed Bachelor degree with minimum 45 percent marks in aggregate. Applicants should have at least three years experience in executive / management /administrative position. Working engineers with post bachelor’s experience of 3 years are also eligible. Admission will be through ICET and other guidelines of APSCHE.

3) MBA (PE - Public Enterprises): Duration is 3 years. Applicants should have passed in Degree Examination with minimum 50 percent marks and need at least 3 years of experience. Admission will be through an Entrance Test conducted by the Institute of Public Enterprises (IPE), Hyderabad.

4) MBA (Technology Management): Duration is 2 years. Seats are available for Non sponsored and Sponsored candidates. Eligibility conditions vary based on the category (Sponsored or non sponsored) of the candidate. Non sponsored category students should have passed in Degree Examination with minimum 45 percent marks along with ICET score. NRI candidates do not need ICET score. Sponsored candidates should have Degree and minimum 3 years experience in the relevant role. Admission for sponsored candidates will be through interview by the Admission Committee.

5) MHM (Hospital Management): Duration is 3 years. Eligibility: Graduation in any discipline and selection will be through Special Entrance Test conducted by Osmania University.

6) MMS Defense: Duration is 60 weeks. All armed forces candidates with Bachelor Degree are eligible to apply. Selection of candidates will be done by respective services Head Quarters of Indian Army.

7) MPM (Police Management): Duration is 2 years. IPS probationers undergoing training at SVPNPA are eligible to apply. Selection will be done by SVPNPA (Sardar Vallabhai Patel National Police Academy).

8) M.Phil in Management Studies (College of Defense Management): Duration is one year. Qualification: Masters Degree in Management Studies OR Defense Studies or in any allied subjects with minimum 55 percent marks.

9) Ph. D: Duration of full time course is 3 years and it is 4 years for part time candidates. Qualification: Candidates with Master’s degree in the concerned subject are eligible. Those having M.Phil or CSIR / UGC or any other qualifications are also eligible. Selection will be through Ph.D. Admissions Committee. More details can be obtained from www.osmania.ac.in .
