OU College of Science - Ph.d, M.Phil and Diploma Admissions

Faculty of Science of Osmania University is offering various PG Diploma and Research Programmes (M.Phil and Ph.D). The university has exclusive departments for all the major subjects in Science such as Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Genetics, Biotechnology etc. Here are details of Pg Diploma and Research programmes offered by College of Science, Osmania Univeristy.

1) PG Diploma in Geographical Cartography: Duration is one year. Eligibility: Applicants should have B.A or B.Sc. or M.A. or M.Sc. degree in Geography, Geology, Economics, Statistics or Mathematics with minimum 40 percent of marks. Candidates with five year Diploma in Architecture. Fine Arts or Commercial Arts with a minimum of 40 percent marks are also eligible. Those have at least one year experience in mapping after graduation in any discipline can also apply.

2) PG Diploma in Physician Assistant: Duration is one year. Applicants should have Graduation in any subject except Oriental
languages. Selection will be based on merit in the qualifying examination.

3) PG Diploma in Medical Informatics / PG Diploma in Hospital Billing / PG Diploma in Health Insurance: Duration of each course is one year. Candidates with Graduation in in any subject except Oriental languages are eligible to apply.

M.Phil and Ph.D. Programmes:

1) M.Phil: Mathematics and Statistics: Applicants must have passed Master’s Degree in the concerned subject OR in an allied subject with minimum 55 percent marks. M. Phil is a full time programme can candidates have to work for full time as research scholars.

2) Ph.D: Programme is offered in Full Time and Part Time modes. Duration is 3 years for full time and 4 years for part time. Ph.D is offered in the subjects of Botany, Genetics, Chemistry, Statistics, Physics, Geophysics, Astrophysics, Biochemistry, Astronomy, Microbiology, Environmental Science, Geology, Mathematics, Geography and Zoology. Eligibility: Applicants should have Mater’s degree in the concerned or allied subject with minimum 55 percent marks. They must have M.Phil Degree Or should have qualified in UGC-CSIR / NET GATE examination or SLET examination of Govt. of AP.
