2) High Court stays NEET: In a sigh of relief to thousands of students aspiring to pursue MBBS in the state, the Andhra Pradesh High Court has stayed the extension of NEET, the national level entrance examination for admission to MBBS in medical colleges. In response to a student's petition which stated that admission to MBBS was governed by Article 371 D of the Constitution and therefore the order of the Central Government asking the students to take the NEET at the national level was unconstitutional.
The student, Mounika Sribhavani also pointed out that the syllabus of CBSE and other central boards was different from the syllabus of the Intermediate Education. The Judge, Justice Vilas Afzal Purkar of the AP High Court considered this and ordered notices to the respondents as that a similar case was filed by private medical colleges and there is stay in that case.
