BITSAT 2012 Online application, Exam Pattern and Program Details

BITSAT-2012 Notification has come out. Birla Institute of Technology and Science (BITS, Pilani) is an internationally reputed technical institute for UG programmes in Engineering, Pharma and Science disciplines. BITS has academic and research campuses at Pilani (Rajasthan), Goa and Hyderabad. It also has an international campus at Dubai. BITS conducts BITSAT 2012 for admission to BE., M.Sc. and B.Pharm Programmes for the academic year 2012-13. BITS calls these as Integrated First Degree Programmes. BITSAT is an online test to be conducted at identified centers across the country during 10th May – 9th June 2012. Courses offered at BITS Pilani Campus:

A. B.E.(Hons.) in Computer Science / Chemical / Electrical and Electronics/ Civil/ Electronics and Instrumentation/ Manufacturing / Mechanical/ B.Pharm.(Hons.).
B. M.Sc.(Hons.): Economics/ Biological Sciences /Mathematics/ Physics/Chemistry/ .
C. M.Sc.(Tech.): General Studies/ Information Systems/ Finance.

Programmes at BITS Goa Campus:

A. B.E.(Hons.) in Electrical and Electronics/ Electronics and Instrumentation / Computer Science/ Mechanical/ Chemical/
B. M.Sc.(Hons.): Mathematics/ Chemistry/ Economics/ Biological Sciences / Physics.
C. M.Sc.(Tech.): Information Systems.

Programmes at BITS Hyderabad Campus:

A. B.E.(Hons.) in Computer Science/ Chemical/ Electronics and Communications / Civil/ Electrical and Electronics/ Mechanical/ B.Pharm.(Hons.).
B. M.Sc.(Hons.): Biological Sciences / Economics/ Mathematics/ Chemistry/ Physics.

Eligibility Requirements Applicants to BITSAT 2012 must have passed in Intermediate / 12th examination of 10+2 pattern with Physics, Chemistry and Maths securing at least 80 percent marks in aggregate and not less than 60 percent in each of these. Those appearing their second Inter / 10+2 exams in 2012 and passed in 2011 only eligible to appear for BITSAT 2012.

Scheme of the Examination: BITSAT-2012 consist of 4 parts for 150 marks in total as described below:
Part I : Physics : 40 questions
Part II : Chemistry : 40 questions
Part III : (a) English Proficiency and (b) Logical Reasoning : 15 + 10 questions
Part IV : Mathematics : 45 questions.
There will be negative marking for wrong answers.

Interested candidates can apply online through BITSAT 2012 website www.bitsadmission.com. BITSAT 2012 fee is Rs. 1600 (Rs. 1100 for female candidates). Options for payment of fee is described on the website.
