1) MCA: Admission to MCA is based on the written test which consists of objective type questions in two parts with equal weightage. Part - A of the exam deals with general mental ability. Questions will be asked from the topics such as reasoning, analysis, comprehension and synthesis. Part -B of the test deals with mathematical topics such as Integration, Differentiation, Analytical Geometry, Sets, Relations, Vectors, Matrices, Number Systems, Trigonometry, Differential Equations, Determinants, Elementary Probability and Statistics, Data Representation, Algorithms and Flowcharts. Part A and Part B are for 50 marks each and the total question paper is for 100 marks. Part A of the test contains 25
objective type multiple choice questions and each question carries 2 marks. Part - B contains of 50 objective type multiple choice questions each for one mark.
2) M.Tech. Programmes: Admission to all the M.Tech specializations, Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence and Information Technology courses will be based on GATE scores in the paper of Computer Science and Information Technology. There will be no separate entrance exams or interviews for these programmes. Candidates have to choose the choice of the course from CS / AI / IT in the application form. Fee for all the programmes is uniform.
3) Ph.D. Programme: Admission to Ph.D programme is based on a written test which consists of objective type questions, short answer questions, descriptive questions and technical comprehension. The written examination contains the areas of Computer Organization, Database Management Systems, Discrete Mathematics, Data Structures, Computer Programming, Algorithms, Graph Theory, Computer Networks, Operating Systems, Automata. The written test consists of two parts. Part A is for 40 marks and Part B is for 35 marks to make it for a total of 75 marks. Those qualified in written test will be called for interviews in the ratio of 1:4 (four candidates for each seat). Candidates with UGC-CSIR JRF need not appear for written test and they are eligible to appear directly for Interview. They can appear for written test if they like to gain more marks.
