The NEET examination will be held in English, Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Marathi, Gujarathi, Assami and Bengali languages from the year 2017-18. The examination is for admission into medical courses such as MBBS and BDS in Government and Private medical colleges across the country.
There will be no impact of NEET on the reservation policies of the state governments. There have been demands from the state governments to conduct NEET in local languages as the students who studied the Intermediate / 10+2 in regional languages will be in disadvantage position to answer the question papers in English / Hindi languages.
Considering the requests from several state governments, the Central government has decided to conduct the NEET in the above mentioned regional / local languages.
